School Administrator – Susan Dandos
Susan Dandos has been the Administrator at Christian Academy since 2010. Ms. Dandos taught at CAP from 2005 to 2010 and has 15 years of teaching experience. She received her BS from Grand Canyon University, an Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Northern Arizona University, and holds Arizona and ACSI teaching credentials. Mrs. Dandos attends Solid Rock Christian Fellowship and enjoys sports and spending time with her three children.

Office Manager – Susanne Stock
Susanne Stock has been the CAP Office Manager since 2011. She is knowledgeable in all the functions of CAP and CAPP. For the past seven years she has worked in accounting and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management. Mrs. Stock is currently working towards an accounting certificate. She attends church at American Evangelical Lutheran Church and is actively involved in her daughter’s school and extracurricular activities.
Kindergarten – Surriya Hofmann
Surriya Hofmann joined CAP in 2015. She received both her Christian Services and Bible & Doctrine Diplomas from Global University’s Berean School of the Bible. She is also currently working towards her Liberal Arts degree from Northern Arizona University. Mrs. Hofmann attends and volunteers at Heights Church in Prescott. She has recently gotten married and enjoys spending quality time with her husband.
First Grade – Brenda Lummer
Brenda Lummer joined CAP in 2015. Mrs. Lummer has taught school for over 15 years. She served at Living Word Christian School in Missouri and at Franklin Phonetic School here in the Prescott area. All of her teaching experience is in the primary grades. Mrs. Lummer and her husband Steve lead the Discovery Church here in Prescott.
Second Grade – Judith Garcia
We are thrilled to announce that Judith Garcia will be moving from Spanish to the second grade classroom. Mrs. Garcia holds a bachelor’s degree in Bible and a master’s degree in elementary education, as well as a bachelor’s degree in accounting. She has 4 years of experience in teaching Spanish here at Christian Academy. Mrs. Garcia has an ACSI teaching certificate and will obtain her Arizona teaching credentials in the coming year. Mrs. Garcia is married and has two daughters – one who attends CAP and one who graduated from CAP. The Garcia family attends FBC Prescott where Mr. Garcia is the Pastor to the Latino community.
Third Grade – Kendra Swenson
Kendra Swenson joined CAP in 2011. She received her BA in Elementary Education from Arizona State University and holds Arizona and ACSI teaching credentials. Mrs. Swenson attends The Church Next Door and enjoys hiking, camping, knitting, and spending time with her husband and their dogs.

Fourth Grade – Sue Power
Sue Power has lived in the Prescott area for just over two years. This is her first year at CAP, but her twentieth year of teaching. Currently, she is working on fulfilling the requirements for a Master’s Degree in Elementary Education. She and her husband Don attend Cornerstone Church, and in her spare time, she enjoys reading, hiking with her dog Koleigh, and spending time with her family. She and her husband have three daughters.
Upper Elementary/Jr High Faculty
Fifth Grade Home Room & Mid-High Science – Joanna Hallstrom
Joanna Hallstrom began teaching at CAP in 2012. Mrs. Hallstrom received her BS in Elementary Education from Northern Arizona University. She and her husband attend Prescott Christian Church, where they serve as youth leaders. Joey enjoys sports, travel, and a variety of crafts.

Sixth Grade Home Room & Mid-High Language Arts – Vanessa Martin
Vanessa Martin has been teaching at Christian Academy since 2010. Mrs. Martin received her BSEd and MA in Elementary Education from Northern Arizona University and holds Arizona and ACSI teaching credentials with a reading endorsement and a K-12 art endorsement. She attends the Potter’s House Christian Center and is involved in costuming for their children’s ministry. Vanessa enjoys weaving, history, art, reading, and spending time with her husband and two children.
“I retired from teaching when my children were little and now I am enjoying being back in the classroom full time. I love being able to share God’s word with students and help them develop their reading and writing skills.”
Seventh/Eighth Grade Home Room & Mid-High Math – Gwen Jahnke
Gwen Jahnke joined CAP in 2000 and has 15 years of teaching experience. She received her BS in Management from Arizona State University, MEd in Educational Leadership from Northern Arizona University, and holds an ACSI lifetime teaching credential. Mrs. Jahnke attends Heights Church and enjoys sewing, hiking, bicycling, and scrapbooking. She is married with three grown children, all of whom are CAP graduates.

Other Faculty Positions
Art – Monteze Deputy
Monteze Deputy joined CAP in 2014. She completed her BA in Communication Arts from the University of West Florida and holds ACSI credentials. Her background in art includes experience in many artistic media.

Music – Clyde Score
Clyde Score has been teaching music at CAP since 2008 and has been teaching music for over 20 years. Since completing his Bachelor of Arts degree at Prescott College, Mr. Score has taught percussion, jazz, and guitar classes at Yavapai College. He has spent 50 years performing as a professional musician and has performed throughout the US, Canada, and in Europe. He currently performs on the Grand Canyon Railway, is on the artist roster for the Arizona Commission on the Arts, and is a member of the Percussive Arts Society. He holds an ACSI teaching certificate.
Computers – Starla Thompson
Starla Thompson has been teaching computers at CAP since 2004. She received her BS in Elementary Education from Northern Arizona University and holds Arizona and ACSI teaching credentials. In addition to teaching computers, Mrs. Thompson orchestrates the technological components of the school, including the Headmaster system and the school library. She attends Heights Church and enjoys reading, genealogy, hiking, and a variety of crafts.
Spanish (Grades 4-8) – Hannah Eliason
Hannah Eliason joined CAP in 2015. She is a CAP alumnus who recently returned from a two-year mission to India, where she was developing audio Bibles in native languages. She received a BA in Intercultural Studies with a minor in Spanish from Biola University. Ms. Eliason is currently working towards a certificate in Spiritual Direction from George Fox University. She attends Canyon Bible Church in Prescott Valley and enjoys hiking, writing, and sewing.
Physical Education – Christine Beyea
Christine Beyea is the new P.E. teacher at Christian Academy. This is her first year of teaching. She received her B.S. in Kinesiology from Arizona State University and currently holds ACSI teaching credentials. Mrs. Beyea is married and has one 6-year-old son. Her family enjoys spending as much time together as they can and they love doing anything outdoors. Mrs. Beyea attends The Ridge Church with her family.
Tutoring and K-3 Spanish – Michele Parent
Michele Parent has been with CAP since 2009 and is a Certified Advanced Level Barton Tutor. She attended NMSU and Dona Ana Community College. Michele has directed a daycare, taught preschool, and served as an elementary school librarian in the past. She has 17 years of experience working with children. She and her family attend Prescott Christian Church and enjoy nothing more than singing, dancing, and being silly together.
“I have found great joy and purpose in serving children who need intervention in their academic lives. My goal is not only to help with the nuts and bolts, but also to lift their hearts and spirits and help them grow in God on their journey.
Teacher on Assignment – Jennifer Kuebler
Jennifer Kuebler has been teaching at CAP since 2008. She holds a BA degree in French Education and a masters in Bilingual/Multicultural Education from the University of Arizona. She also has an Educator certificate through ACSI. Currently, she is working as a teacher on assignment. Jennifer attends Prescott Christian Church. She enjoys hiking with her dogs, reading, and spending time with her family.
